It looks chunkier than ever…That’s because the Mini Countryman has grown in size in second-generation form, as seen here in first official pictures ahead of a world premiere in Los Angeles next month. The conventional petrol-turbo engines include 136hp 1.5-litre for Cooper and 192hp 2.0-litre for Cooper S. The 2.0-litre diesel-turbo, meanwhile, generates 150hp in Cooper D and 190hp in Cooper SD forms. Mini says the new Countryman will go on sale in Europe early next year followed by other countries from March. Prices of today’s Countryman models are set at 1.87 million baht for the Cooper, 2.24 million for Cooper D and 2.56 million for Cooper SD ALL4. Some sources say the new Countryman may be dearer than today’s model as it moves upmarket.
